Psychiatry Advanced Trainee Program
What is it?

Pitstop Health is a child and adolescent psychiatric advanced training centre, accredited by the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP).

The training pathway enables patients to receive psychiatric support from an advanced child and adolescent psychiatry trainee, who are typically 6-12 months away from obtaining their qualifications as a child and adolescent psychiatrist.
How does this apply to you?

Only patients who are under 18 years old are eligible to access this program.

This enables patients and families are able to receive care and support in a reduced time-frame, and at a reduced fee.

Advanced trainees receive regular supervision from the Clinical Director of Pitstop Health, during which each case presentation is discussed thoroughly. If indicated, the Clinical Director will attend some of the consultations to provide further specialist input.

What else do you need to know?

Only patients who are under 18 years old are eligible to access this program.

Both parents/caregivers and child must be present (in-person or telehealth) for every consultation in order to be eligible for appropriate Medicare rebates.

If your child does not have an existing Mental Health Treatment Plan, you may be eligible for higher Medicare rebates during your initial consultation. The advanced trainee is qualified to complete this if clinically indicated.
