Who should you see at Pitstop Health?
We understand that each individual struggles with unique challenges, and there is no ‘one size fits all’ model of care. Our strength lies in our holistic approach - we can work cohesively as a team to provide recommendations with the most suitable interventions, at the right time, and with the most appropriate clinician.
Prepare: Booking an initial consultation
What is the typical waiting period?
Each clinician has different waiting periods. This will be updated from time to time on our website. If you require an urgent consultation, please send us an email request to be placed on the urgent waitlist. If we have any cancellations, we will contact you accordingly.

Please note Pitstop Health is not a crisis service. If you require any urgent assistance, please contact the appropriate emergency services.
Process: The Initial Consultation
What typically happens in the initial consultation?
-
Most initial consultations (unless specified otherwise) are held for 60 minutes. For clients under 18 years old, we may require 2 separate consultations to ensure adequate time is provided to both parents and child.
-
During the intake session, the clinician will obtain as much background history, relevant clinical information, and the current presenting concerns.
-
Following this, you and the clinician will collaboratively decide on the most suitable interventions, including arranging review consultations.
Do you provide telehealth consultations?
-
Yes, we do. However, this will be facilitated at the clinician’s discretion. Please inform us if this is your preferred method of consultation.
-
All telehealth appointments must be prepaid prior to the commencement of the appointment.
-
You will receive an sms to confirm your appointment. This sms also have the telehealth link provided, which you click on at the time of your appointment. This confirmation sms will also have a prepayment link, to allow you to complete this prior to the appointment.
How about NDIS, Private health insurance, DVA or Workcover?
-
Most services can be claimed, however it is your responsibility to contact your providers to confirm this.
-
You will be expected to complete the full payment after every consultation. We will issue a tax invoice which you can use to submit your claim.

What is the Medicare Safety Net?
-
The Medicare Safety Nets provide families and individuals with an additional rebate for out-of-hospital Medicare services, once annual thresholds are reached.
-
In 2024, the threshold for concessional individuals and families, including families that received Family Tax Benefit Part (A), is $811.80. The threshold for all other (non-concessional) individuals and families in 2024 is $2,544.30.
-
Families (including couples) are required to register in order to be recognised as a family for the purposes of the safety nets. In most cases, registered families have their expenses combined to reach the safety net thresholds. This may help to qualify for safety net benefits more quickly. Registration forms can be completed online, or you can visit their website for more information.
Deposits and SMS reminders
-
1 week before your consultation, you will receive an SMS confirmation for your appointment booking and a payment link to complete your deposit payment. Appointments will only be confirmed once deposit payment is received.
-
Please note this SMS is a courtesy reminder; it is your responsibility to remember the appointments which have been booked by you.
-
If we do not receive a reply and are not able to process a payment hold within 5 days, your booking will be cancelled
-
If you are unable to attend the appointment, please call us at least 2 full working days in advance to avoid the late notice fee.

Proceed: Review Consultations
How many review consultations is to be expected, and how often will they occur?
Your recovery journey is unique to you, hence this will be determined following your initial consultation.
Typically, you can expect review consultations to occur every 2-4 weeks during the initial phase.
